The PTSO is parents, teachers, and students working the same problem: making Murphy a school our kids are glad to walk into. Membership takes two minutes. Volunteering takes as little as one shift.

Our purpose
Why the PTSO exists
The PTSO brings together parents, guardians, teachers, staff, and students to support and enrich the educational experience at Murphy High School. Everyone who cares about MHS is welcome. Specifically, we exist to:
- Promote open communication and mutual support among parents, guardians, teachers, staff, students, and school administration
- Enhance and enrich the educational experience and school environment of our students
- Foster a sense of community and encourage involvement in the life of the school
- Raise and administer funds and resources to support school programs, activities, staff, and students
Year one
What we have planned
This is the PTSO's first year, so there is no track record to point to yet. Here is what we are building toward instead.
For our teachers
Treats for Teachers every quarter, and two teacher grants funded this year for classroom needs the school budget does not cover.
For our students
Two student group grants for clubs, teams, and student organizations that need help covering their costs, plus recognition for Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance.
Every month
MVP, Most Valuable Panther for a student who set the bar, and Certified Real One for the faculty or staff member who made the difference. Staff nominate the students; students nominate the staff.
General meetings
Second Tuesday of every month, 6:00 PM
MHS Auditorium · Open to every Murphy family, member or not. No childcare is provided.
